Longbow Elite was formed in the fall of 1992, when Bill Collins (founder) decided his hunts needed more challenge.
With 28 years of bow hunting experience, Bill put down his compound bow and replaced it with several recurves and longbows. Among his collections are: The Deathwish, Humminbird, Twenty First Century, Bruin, Bear, Saxon, Martin and many self bows.
Bill shot his first traditional deer with a Bruin Recurve in the fall of '92 and has been hooked from that point on. Since his first traditional hunt, he has acquired several trophies throughout the regions of Canada and the United States.
Trophies include: whitetail, bear, fallow deer, red stag, wild boar, ram and caribou. Bill has accomplished Pope and Young status with whitetail, bear and caribou. Bill's caribou won the 2000 Big Game Award with North American Hunter.
Because of his desire for traditional hunting he also started making his own arrows and flemish strings. His love of the outdoors and traditional hunting has become popular with friends and family.
Bill encourages future bow hunters to enjoy the sport with hunting trips and guided hunts. We have donated youth hunts to archery clubs upon request if available.
Promote the sport of bow hunting from compound to traditional, enjoy the company and stories of others.
